RAF Knoxville Celebrates 100,000 Deliveries

Even though Random Acts of Flowers’ entire mission is devoted to providing personal moments of kindness throughout the year, making a milestone delivery in the middle of National Random Acts of Kindness Week still feels a little extra special.

RAF Knoxville made its first official delivery just over 10 years ago, and the organization currently serves more than 150 healthcare facilities in Knoxville and the East Tennessee region, including hospitals, assisted living facilities, and hospice care centers.  RAF has blossomed since starting operations, growing from 2,170 deliveries of hope and healing in 2009 to an amazing 15,900 in 2018.

And, on Tuesday, February 19th, Random Acts of Flowers visited Parkwest Medical Center to make the branch’s 100,000th delivery.

Emma Hayes, the RAF Knoxville Program Director says of the mission and the milestone –

“The impact that a moment of beauty and compassion can have on an individual is an honor to experience. 100,000 deliveries is a tremendous milestone, because it means that 100,000 people in our community have been impacted directly by delivering hope. I am so humbled to work for an organization that is changing lives, one floral arrangement at a time.”

And, floral delivery recipients in Knoxville have also reached out many times in the last decade to share the impact the flowers and the love behind them made.

“I just wanted to let you know how much my family and I appreciated this kind gesture. It’s not every day that people take their time to give a gift to not just a random person but a whole hospital floor, just to brighten their day and help them smile. You went above and beyond. It is so great knowing firsthand that there are still people out there that genuinely care about others.” – Adam B.
